Group Therapy

Why group therapy?

Group therapy offers a low-pressure environment to practice therapy skills with support from both a therapist and peers. Because it is more affordable than individual sessions, it's an excellent way to maximise your progress toward your goals.

Beyond the cost savings, it provides a sense of community. You’ll connect with others who share similar interests and therapy goals to you. It is a safe space to meet new people and have fun.

  • Groups are charged at the rate of the therapist ($193.99), divided by the number of participants. This means that the cost may vary depending on the number of participants in the group. You will be provided with a cost breakdown prior to signing up to the group.

For example: if there are 4-participants, this will cost $48.50 per group session.

  • Groups are run in 10 week blocks and are designed to allow you opportunity to target your goals in a group setting. After an initial consultation, you’ll join a group of 3–5 peers to work toward shared and personal goals.

At the beginning, middle and end of the program, you’ll meet with your therapist to review your progress and plan next steps.

  • We understand that life happens, and sometimes things change. If you sign up for a group, you will have the option to withdraw from the group for any reason, however you will need to provide two weeks notice.

If you are unable to attend your two week notice period, you will still be billed the full group rate for these sessions.

  • If you are interested in participating in a therapy group, talk to your therapist and they can provide you with further information on which group may suit you best. Once you have agreed on a suitable group, you will participate in a discussion about the goals you would like to target through your participation in the group to ensure that you are able to get the most out of your group therapy experiences.
