NDIS Funding Period Update

πŸ“’ Important Update- NDIS Funding Periods πŸ—“οΈ

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has recently introduced a significant change to how your plan funding is accessed, a change officially referred to as Section 33. This update, effective for all NDIS plans starting or reviewed since May 19, 2025, impacts how your NDIS budget is released and managed.

Previously, many NDIS participants received their entire plan budget upfront for the duration of their plan. However, with the implementation of Section 33, funds will now be released in "funding periods." This means your NDIS budget will be accessible in instalments – for example, every 3 months – rather than all at once.

Learning About Funding Periods

NDIS Participants and their representatives can easily view their specific funding period dates and the allocated amounts for each period directly in the NDIS participant portal. We encourage you to log in and familiarise yourself with these new details.

For comprehensive information about this policy change and its implications, you can always find further details on the official NDIS Website. We recommend reviewing their resources to ensure you have a full understanding of Section 33.

Further details about this policy change can be found on the NDIS Website πŸ”—

What does this mean for your journey with us at Newcastle Therapy?

What does this mean for your journey with us at Newcastle Therapy? πŸ€” Our service agreement has had a little makeover to sync up with these new NDIS funding periods πŸ“„Services can only be billed within the same funding period they happen in, so it is important you update your therapist of any changes to your NDIS Plan. You can carry over any unused NDIS funding to your next period. But, if you use up all your funding before your plan renews, we'll have to pause services until the next period starts.

We're committed to providing your therapy based on the structure of your NDIS plan. ✨
